                  WELCOME TO GOVT ITI TIRUPATI

                   India is fast growing economy With rising demand for skilled Workforce which enhances the efficiency and flexibility of the labour market, reduces skills bottlenecks, and improves mobility and productivity. The Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGE&T) initiated Craftsman Training Scheme in 1950 by establishing 50 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) for imparting skills in various vocational trades to meet the manpower requirements for technology and industrial growth for the country.  The demand for skilled manpower has increased substantially due to rapid economic  growth, changes in technology and work process , and globalization of economy.  As on 01-01-2007 there were 1896 Government ITIs in the country.  Out of these 500 it  are being upgraded into Centers of Excellence under a Scheme started from 2005-06.  The Up gradation of the remaining 1396 Government started in 2007-08 through public private partnership.

                    With an objective of ensuring a steady flow of skilled personnel and to reduce unemployment amongst the educated youth by equipping them with required skills, education and discipline for suitable industrial employment as  well as self-employment, Industrial Training institutes have been set up under the  Craftsmen Training Scheme in the Ministry of labour , New Delhi.  The impart training and non-engineering trades is as per the syllabus and curriculum approved by Government of India in consultation with the above said Council.

                   The Directorate General of Employment  & Training (DGE&T)  in the  Ministry of Labour, Government  of India initiated Craftsmen Training  Scheme (CTS) in 1950 by establishing about 50 Industrial Training Institutes(it is) for imparting skills n various vocational trades to meet the skilled manpower requirements for technology and industrial growth of the country.  The Second major phase of increase in ITI s came with the oil-boom  in West-Asia and export of skilled manpower to that region from  India.  Several new private it is were established in 1980’s in southern  states mostly in Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh etc., from where trained craftsmen  found placement mainly in the Gulf countries.  In 1980, there were 831 ITI s and the number rose to 1887 it is in 1987.  During 1990’s the growth of ITI s had been steep and presently there are over 4499 ITIs.

                       This institute was started in the year 1982 with 9 Trades.  At present the Institute have intake capcity of above seats/year in 12 different trades of one year and two year duration.
